my continuing war against insomnia
I am starting to feel like an idiot. This never used to be an issue for me.
I don't look forward to having to drug myself...

drove to Eugene for a party.
2 hours' drive, lost three times, and it was just worth it. Not too wild, not too mellow, just the right amount of intoxication. Nice change of pace, always good to meet new people. I rate it a solid B+.
Here are two drunken sketches made while waiting for the pool table, of a guy nobody can remember seeing; I think I may have imagined him.

bathtub theology.
another wordy, introspective update... I sincerely hope this is not a trend for me.

spent the day closing off loose ends on this project.
Here is a small part of it which I got permission to post here.

It is Ammit, the devourer of souls. This design is being used to make a plush toy; hopefully all of you will be able to order one in a few months. I've also been doing a few other small graphics as ornamentation (silkscreens and embroidery mostly) for a few pieces of clothing. They're coming out fantastic, and both me and my client have been pleasantly surprised by them.
I really do have a fun job; I look forward to someday learning how to make it profitable, and possibly a little less painful to perform.

The Continuing Adventures of Mark Trail
This counts as three days, since I've been working on it since Thursday. As it turns out, Flash is very good for rapid sketches but terrible for any kind of accurate drawing. Next time I have an idea like this I will do it on paper and scan it in.
Actually, come to think of it, next time I have an idea like this maybe I should keep it to myself.

exciting action night of horrible danger
I made something for tonight, but I am still a little drunk so I will have to wait until tomorrow morning to decide whether it is worth posting.
Updated, 12:20 PM the following day:
Wow, this really absolutely isn't worth posting, and will probably get me into some kind of trouble later -- yet I can't bear to raise that number, up there at the top of the page. Here you are, read it at your own risk.
I should have a much better update for you tonight, stay tuned.

another real Internet conversation
Whenever I talk to strangers online, I've taken to imagining them as super-villains. It tends to make ordinary conversations seem more interesting.

dumber by the minute
This project just keeps dragging on and sapping my energy, so that the more I work the less I get done. My mom told me this morning that I look like a ghost.

so tired...
Drew Molly from a photo that was on the fridge... as usual, it looks nothing like her or the photo.

almost finished...
This is me waiting for Painter IX to render its layers, which it did for about five seconds following every single brushstroke until I figured out to just hide the ones that I'm not actively using.

now where could that darn national guard be?
I know I had them in 2003, but what did I do with them!
